Dr Idil Osman is an Assistant Professor in Media and Communication at the University of Leicester and Associate Director for Partnerships at the university’s Institute for Digital Culture. Her research explores relationships between media, digital technology, communication and culture and how they engage migrant, refugee and diasporic communities from Africa. Her expertise spans themes of development, conflict and humanitarian interventions and is grounded in making knowledge accessible beyond the university. Her work, as a practitioner academic, brings together colleagues from academia, civil society, policy and community to engender meaningful public impact.
